How do I enter Renewable Natural Gas energy data for my property?

How do I enter Renewable Natural Gas energy data for my property?

If you have not already entered your property’s Energy Meters into ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager (ESPM), please refer to our Knowledge Base article "Add energy meters (Electricity, Natural Gas, and other) to your ESPM property” (Article Link).

If your building uses a designated blend (5%, 10%, 25%, 50% or 100%) of Renewable Natural Gas, it is very important to enter a value in the Percent Renewable Gas column for all 12 months of the reporting year in order for your property’s metrics to be correctly calculated.

As of July 1, 2025, all FortisBC gas customers have 3% of their gas designated as RNG. If your building has not voluntarily chosen a designated blend of 5% or greater, you may leave the column "Percent Renewable Gas" blank in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
