Someone left my company, can I access their previous benchmarking work?
If you are taking over the benchmarking process from a colleague, you can ask them to transfer ownership of their property in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager by following the steps below.
Before being able to transfer a property to another user on ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager (ESPM), you must add them as a connected contact.
STEP 1 - Send a connection request to the ESPM user you wish to transfer the property to.
- Click on 'Contacts' on the upper right hand corner, then 'Add New Contacts/Connections'
- Search for the user's account by typing in their username and clicking 'Search'
- Click 'Connect' to send the request

STEP 2 - Once your connection request has been accepted, on the 'MyPortfolio' page, scroll down to Manage Portfolio and click 'Transfer ownership' of a property that you manage to another Portfolio Manager user.
- Click 'Select Properties' and use the checkbox to select the property(ies) you wish to transfer. Next, use the drop-down menu to select the appropriate contact. Click 'Transfer Property' to complete the process.
- Once you have sent the transfer request to the other ESPM user, and they have accepted the transfer, you will no longer have access to the property.
If the previous colleague no longer has access to the property or account in ESPM, you can contact the ESPM help desk for assistance transferring the property to your ESPM account - How do I get a property transferred to my account? (Website Link)
