Is my data going to be publicly shared?
The CRD Building Benchmarking Map will be published in the Fall of each year. Buildings that have successfully benchmarked will appear on the map. However, building owners are given the option to opt out of having their building’s performance metrics displayed on the public benchmarking map.
If your building is opts into the map, the following information will be publicly visible:
- Building name
- Year built, management organization, property type, and square footage
- Greenhouse Gas Emissions Intensity, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Site EUI, Source EUI, and ENERGY STAR Score (if available)
Please note that if your building has completed benchmarking in the CRD program, it will automatically be included on the Building Benchmark BC public map. To conceal your building’s performance metrics, log into the Building Owner Portal and switch the "Make Results Public" toggle to "off" (available once your submission has been accepted). If opted out, your building will still appear on the map but without any energy or carbon performance data. The same disclosure option selected for the CRD program’s map will be noted and carried over to the Building Benchmark BC program’s map.
