Extensions and Exemptions for benchmarking
60-day extensions for benchmarking
The municipality may grant a 60-day extension during the current benchmarking year for the following reasons:
- The building owner has encountered delays associated with tenant authorization forms (BC Hydro data aggregation request)
- The building owner has encountered delays associated with the sharing of their tenant’(s) FortisBC account information
- The building owner has requested a modification to the Covered Buildings List and is awaiting approval from the CRD Benchmarking Help Desk
- The building owner has encountered extenuating circumstances resulting in a delay
Important Note: Extension requests must be made in writing to the CRD Benchmarking Help Desk one month prior to the deadline for submission (May 1st of the current reporting year) in order to be processed.

Exemptions for benchmarking
The municipality may grant a benchmarking exemption for the following reason:
- The entire building was issued a demolition permit during the reporting period. The CRD building benchmarking team will ask for supporting documentation to support your request.
